He was born with a spinal disorder, but he looks like there's nothing wrong with him. He plays it nicely, but that doesn't stop the pain. His name is Core, Core Amagai. He can't walk up stairs, which is why he lives in an apartment with his parents and older sister. Right now he's on his way home. His hood pulled over his head, face hidden. Core always hides. He was following close behind his sister, whom was angry at him. He didn't get along with anyone.. except for his mother. Chase looked over her shoulder, and Core caught the glance. She stopped mid step, and fixed him with a cold glare. Core felt somewhat afraid... Chase was a little bit more powerfuler than him... especially since she was a meister and weapon. But what was he? He didn't know yet... all he knew, was that he could summon demons with cards. Where did these cards come from? Who knows, Core simply obtained them, and won't tell a soul where he got them. Chase sighed. "Wanna go get ice cream or something?" He was a little surprised. "Well.... uhm... sure..." 'Maybe it's a chance we'll make up..' Core thought. Chase smiled, and grabbed his hand. Then changed direction, went through an allyway, and there was Death Robbins. Core didn't want to look immature, so he tried his best not to scream "ICE CREAM!!!". Chase led the way, asked Core what he wanted, and then gave him the chocolate chip icecream. "Arigatou! (Thank you!)" Silence fell over them, as Core ate his icecream quickly. "... So we're made up, right?" She asked, not hinting any emotions. Core nodded, smiling. "Good... now let's get--" She was interrupted by the clearing of the throat in a distance. It sounded oddly familiar...

She always feared that Core would get hurt somehow. Chase had insisted on bringing him with, for some reason, but they weren't coming back, and Stephanie was getting worried. She ran to the closet and grabbed her purse. "Shilo, dear! I'm going out to find Core and Chase." She called down to her husband, who was doing who knows what. She pushed the apartment door and took the stairs, rather than the elevator. She ran outside, pushing open the door, and looked frantically for them. Where could they be?! She headed on the path to the drugstore, and upon not seeing them the whole way there, resorted to taking another way back. He shoes hit hard on the pavement as she searched frantically through the streets. She had taken every precaution she could with Core. He couldn't go up stairs, and it worried Stephanie to death. She loved him, despite his quietness and odd tendencies. She would hear him in his room, doing something. He often hurried home, clutching some sort of cards. He never told anyone about them, and it worried Stephanie. She finally reached Death Robbins. Of course she had to take him for ice cream. She cleared her throat angrily. "Chase Amagai!" She shouted her daughter's name, not so loud as to catch the attention of any people sitting nearby, only her children. "What do you think you're doing?! I told you to go and then come straight home with him! I didn't even want you to take him, but then you just have to get me worried sick!" She bent down almost to her knees and gave Core a hug, but didn't hug him too tightly. She never did, it always worried her. But she had other reasons. Since the incident several years ago, at the Academy, things had been happening. Stephanie always wore lipstick, wether it was her skin tone or not. Her lips were black, and she knew exactly why now. She had never told anyone but Shilo, but she didn't even tell him the whole truth. She had hidden it for years, from her own children. She knew her body had been infused with a tiny piece of the Kishin, but it never did much to bother her. At night, though, she had torturous visions on occasion. It was always the same, a young boy, who transformed into some sort of Kishin. She knew who the boy was, at least after he was born. It was Core. She had tried not to even have the child, but she couldn't refuse Shilo without reason, so she went along with it. She always felt it was the biggest mistake of her life.

Core struggled as his mother embraced him... lightly. It annoyed him so much to know that she thought he was weak. But he didn't say anything this time, because every time he brought it up, Stephanie would be hurt. "Where's dad?" Chase nodded, as if saying "Ditto". He leaned forward, and whispered into Stephanie's ear quietly. "Where are my pills? M-My back hurts..." Chase cocked an eyebrow, but didn't hear a word, thankfully. Core did not want anyone to see him being weak.. Chase mumbled, "Well?! Are we going, or not? I'm getting kind of hungry." She flipped her pink hair over her shoulder, closing her eyes avoiding any eye contact. 'I wish mom wouldn't be so hard on Core.. he's stronger than that. I've hugged him tightly before, and the only thing he did was wince.' Her eyes flashed over to Core, who was watching her. He looked away, but Chase kept on staring at him. Chase always knew he had an unique presence. But every time she asked Stephanie about it, Stephanie would change the topic. 'So stubborn.'

She grabbed the bottle, and poured out a pill, still in her purse. She told Chase to start walking home, and slipped the pill into Core's hand when Chase wasn't looking. Steph knew how embarrassed he got when someone thought he was a weakling. "We can grab some lunch at the Deathstaurant." She said, as Chase commented on her hungriness. She was weary, tired from hiding away a secret from her entire family for so long. It was only a matter of time. Weapon or Meister abilities were supposed to crop up around this time. How disappointed would Core be when he wasn't either, even when his sister was a bit of both? Maybe now was time to tell him? Of course Chase couldn't know. She'd have to get Chase out of the picture when Steph chose to talk to Core. They arrived at the restaurant when she thought up an excuse. "Chase. I need you to go back to the drugstore and then back home quickly. Your father is sick, and I forgot to get his medicine." Truthfully, she had only just ordered it, not forgotten it. "We'll get you something, okay, hun?" She kissed Chase quickly on the cheek, then walked inside with Core. She still wasn't sure if she wanted to do this, but she had to.

Core followed his mother, relief filling his body after swallowing the pills. "Is dad really sick?" Chase arrived at the drugstore around fifteen minutes later. She asked the man at the cashier if there were any pain pills waiting to be picked up by Stephanie Amagai. The man said he was sorry, and that there were no pills being held at the time. Chase cocked an eyebrow, but left the scene slowly. Then it came to her. Stephanie had wanted her away. But why? 'Why...' Chase picked up her pace, and marched to the Deathstraunt, for she was unbelievably hungry. "What was that sound?!" Core cried out, in a whisper. He got close to his mother, but not for protection. But to protect. Cards at hand. He searched the shadows for movement, and there it was. A disgusting kishin. It looked like a giant worm, but had one gigantic mouth with twenty sets of sharp teeth that spun around like a washing machine. Core took one card inbetween his forefinger and thumb, and swung it to the left. "Summoning from the depths of hell and heaven - Sikc!" A white wolf appeared from the rains of dust, red and orange markings striped across its sides, and nipped at its ankles. A large shield sat on its back, and it craned its neck up at the bright sky, and let out a fierce howl.

She called for her son, who was already at her side, outside the Restaurant, staring the Kishin in the face. Steph had taken up Soul Force practice with Professor Stein, and wasn't quite a pro, but was still fairly powerful. "St-" She was about to speak when she saw her son remove the card from his pocket and begin chanting. She felt a pang in her gut, as she always did. She didn't know that the full Kishin felt the same with each card summoned. It didn't really hurt her, it just felt like a punch to the gut. She dropped to her knees for a second, quickly recovering. "Core!" She called for him, trying to get him to stop. "You have to stop!" Stephanie always felt like something was going to happen if he kept using those things. "I-I can handle this." She kicked into overdrive, as she always did when protecting her children. She ran around the giant white wolf, and clenched her fists tight. They sparked lightly and then burst as she punched her fists right into the Kishin Egg's chest. It flew backwards into a wall, but quickly recovered and hit Stephanie with an uppercut, then punched her into the wall. She started coughing, and her blood was tainted with small bits of black. She quickly hid it, so her children wouldn't see, but accidentally wiped away her lipstick in the process, revealing her black lips.

[bg=d3d3d3][atrb=style,padding: 20px;] CORE AMAGAI "Mom! Get out of the way!!!" Too late, the kishin slammed her into a wall with its huge body. 'Don't panic, don't panic...' Core did not notice his mother's black lips, for she was a bit far away, and he had tunnel vision. The only thing he saw was: mother in danger, kishin wolf, kishin worm, kill worm with wolf, save mother. Everything else was out of the picture - even civilians. The wolf flared its crystal white teeth, as sharp as a set of ice shards. "Attack!" The creature raced forward, grabbing the shield off its own back, and gripping it with its teeth. It soared through the air, and sliced through the worm. The disgusting green blood of the worm rained down on Core and the wolf, but then all at once, the worm halfs disintegrated along with the three puddles of green blood and turned into one kishin egg. The wolf kishin grabbed it within its mouth, and swallowed it. Then - vanished. "M-Mom...?" Core approached his mother, who was bleeding. He sat down next to her, his arms slid around her body into an embrace. At that second, Chase found herself at the Deathstraunt, and came to her mother's side as well. "What... happened...?"

That's when she saw the worm explode, and have it's soul eaten by the wolf. She staggered, pushing off the wall and regaining her balance. "I-I'm fine Core. We need to get home. W-we need to talk." She took his hand and started walking, Chase right behind. Now was the time to tell him, and she knew it. She made haste, walking as quickly as she could back to their apartment building. She made her way to the elevator and called it, not letting go of his hand, in fact gripping it tighter. The door dinged open, and she walked inside, her children behind her. She pushed the button for their floor and waited for the elevator to lift. How would Core react when she told him? Nobody else actually knew, only her. Not Shilo and not Chase. She had never been able to tell them, any of them. Now it was time. The door opened again, and she stepped out, then unlocked the door to their apartment, and pushed it open. "Shilo. We need to talk."
