IT SEEMS TO ESCAPE ME Theme TuneName:Akio Takahasi. Alias: N/A. Gender: Male. Age: Around six hundred years old - appears to be in late teens. Animal: Dog.
AS SEEN THROUGH THE SOUL Appearance: Reference
The most prominent thing about Akio is his appearance - sharp, sly and decidedly evil. In fact, if anything, he looks more like the animal he draws power from than an actual human being. Even the cloths he wears all shout the brutality and determination that we can find in our canine friends. But Akio is not anyones "friend", and certainly does not plan on becoming so...
Standing at around "5'9 and weighing in at approximatively 138 pounds, Akio's choice in cloths is a strange mix of army grunt, punk-rocker and goth. Below the waist he is nearly always wearing a pair camouflage trousers, neatly tucked into a pair of heavy black bovver boots, while above it's safe to say that tank tops are his favorite form of t-shirt - even in winter months he'll be wearing them, accompanied by the sleek black pieces of cloth he wears over his arms. Of course, naturally, his outfit isn't always the same; he refuses to fall into the cliché that all Witches wear the same thing day in and day out. However, there is one thing that Akio probably couldn't live without, and that's his headphones. Rain, sleet or shine he'll have them over his ears, but not for the reason you'd expect.
It's unknown to both him and any one else as to way his hearing is so acute; perhaps he was born with it, or maybe it developed as he became more prominent in Witch society. Whatever the reason, Akio's sense of hearing is so powerful that, to block out excess noise, he has to wear a pair of thick headphones over his ears. Now, while this could be an advantage, it's not without it's downside. If, let's say, the headphones were removed and a particularly loud sound was created near him, then it would almost certainly pain him to the point of collapse. Luckily for him, this has never happened. Yet.
In terms of physical appearance, Akio is everything you'd expect from a devious evil mastermind. His hair, bleached crimson, sticks out at all angles, falling over his dark auburn eyes like a wave. His facial features are pointed and pixie like - especially around his chin, eyes, noes and mouth - giving him a somewhat frightening air, which, in truth, suits him just perfectly.
Personality:
{obnoxious}x{sadistic}x{selfish}x{loyal}x{optimistic}
There are some things about Akio that at first seem innocent but then take on a rather... dark quality after a certain period of time. Like his smile. At first it just seems energetic and optimistic, but the way his eyes seem to crease at the corners and the way his sharper-than-normal teeth seem to produce over his bottom lip... suddenly that sunshine grin seems more like a sadistic smirk, as if the whole time he's been talking to you he's actually imagining tearing your head off. But then again, that's just a presumption.
In general, Akio has a habit for taking people off guard. He really does come off as a bright, friendly person, not as the crazed pyromaniac he really is. You see as a Witch Akio has come to learn many things, and one of them is that you can't trust anyone, not even fellow Witches. Only yourself matters, and as long as you're protected against Shibusen then you have a chance at surviving. It just so happens that Akio finds hiding his trues colours a lot more helpful than constantly running like his mother. I mean, look how that turned out for her. History: Born in the Northern Provence's of Japan, Akio was the only son of Emi Takahasi - a Witch who was as surprised as anyone to find a gurgling baby boy on her lap. Now, before we continue this you must understand one thing - Emi was not a bad person, but she wasn't a good one either. She killed the people who came after her and left the ones who didn't. Simple to her mind, and completely fair. And thus, she named the boy Akio and continued to live her life as a normal person, constantly using Soul Protect in fear she (and her son) might be found. And it wasn't just the newly formed Shibusen she was running from, it was other Witches too. God forbid what would happen if they found out she'd had a son! She'd be the laughing stalk of the witchery world! Was it even possible for a Witch to produce a male? She'd never heard of it happening... Even so, she started skipping Witch's Mass's and constantly hid the child from sight. It's pretty much clear at this point that Akio had a far from healthy childhood. He was surrounded by a Mother who both loved and hated him and constantly wondered why they always had to move around so much. But, oddly enough, he was far from sad or worried - this was the world he knew, and he loved it. That was until the Sway of Magic pulled him into it's wake.
Turns out Akio loves nothing more than to destroy stuff. To watch it burn and blacken to a crisp. The dogs were barking in his head, and it was the fateful visit of a certain Shinigami that made them howl.
Of course, he was so young at the time he could barely remember anything. Only the faint rustling of a cape and the painful feeling that comes after loss remain in his mind, and it's those exact memory's that propel him onwards to crush any stupid Meister or Weapon that cross his path. Not because they killed his Mother. Not because they burnt his home. Not because they let him live. It was 'cause, in his head anyway, that they were the threat. They were the ones that needed to be exterminated. And as a one-hundred and eight year old Akio stood at the entrance of his home, watching with wide, fascinated eyes as it fell to pieces, he swore that nothing would stop him from achieving that goal.
So here he was, surviving on a belief that because he was male, he wasn't a Witch. Oh ho ho, how wrong he'd proven them! He'd even gotten so far as to see his face on some wanted posters. Ah, you know you've achieved something wonderful when you've got a bounty over your head. When the.... "incident" occurred, he appeared to be around thirteen at the time, but easily could have passed off for someone older with his natural good looks and charm. This was what got him over to the other side of the world. To America, where he could really make his name. Of course it was nowhere as easy as it sounded - you don't just waltz into country's of you're own accord. But hey. He was a Witch. As far as he was concerned, he could do whatever he wanted.
Years passed, many hundreds of them in fact. Akio developed, as did his magic and the passion for destruction that came it. Yet he could walk down a street and seem completely normal albeit his flashy dress sense. And even if you were to talk to him, you'd never know the difference. But... still... you'd never want to look him in the eyes.
THE SECRETS I LET OUT Mantra:"Ru-run Ru-run, teeth, bone, flesh, run! Spells: [*Spiritual Flexibility] [*Soul Protect]
- Animal Intuition -
A spell where, upon refining his Soul Wavelength, it is possible for Akio to predict the targets next few moves. To do this, he lessens the power of one of his senses (i.e: sound) and transfers it to his eyesight, thus allowing him the pick up the tiniest little movements and "sense" what sort of opponent he'll be up against. This is primely a defensive move - one he uses to dodge his way out of close range attacks.
- Ragin' Roar -
Akio's most commonly used attack - Ragin' Roar is an offensive version of Animal Intuition. However, instead of transferring the "sense" to his eyes, he moves it to his vocal chords, essentially letting him roar at the target with the force of a moving car. Even so, he still must use this move carefully. If utilized too many times there is a risk he could tear his throat out with the strain he's putting it under. Nasty stuff, I know.
- Temper Tantrum -
By adding on an extra line to his mantra ("Ru-run, Ru-run, teeth, bone, flesh, run! Time to stop and have some fun!~) Akio can force his brain into releasing extra amounts of adrenaline into his system while also providing his muscles with an extortionate amount of oxygen. Doing this allows Akio to enter a super sensitive, charged attack that heightens his physical performance while boosting up his anger levels considerably. However, the one time that Akio did use this move it nearly cost him the battle - and his life. Since then he has never used Temper Tantrum, and doesn't plan on doing so anytime soon. The reason for this is because it's such a strain on his body, not even he (the self named stamina God) can outlast the affects of this spell, thus leading to his eventual collapse if used for over five minutes.
- Lupine Loyalty -
By saying the chant and speaking out the spell name, Akio can summon two shadow-like creatures that take the shape of dogs to do his bidding. In truth, they are simply his Soul Wavelength manifested in that form, being controlled a lot like how a puppet is. However, they can be dispersed with one blow and can not defend themselves, but if hit by one then the feeling is similar to getting hit by Soul Purge, only weaker.
- Sound Sense -
Not a spell per say, but an ability all the same. For most of his life Akio has had to block his ears off, simply because his hearing is that powerful. And even with his headphones on, if he tried he could easily listen in on conversations in other rooms.
Performance:
Strengths [+] Agile and fast. [+] Strong. [+] Stamina. [+] Balances out short and long range attacks when fighting. [+] Loyal/Brave.
Weaknesses [-] Gloats. [-] Distracted easily. [-] Clumsy. [-] Lazy. [-] Frivolous in battle situations.
Gracefulness and presentation is not Akio's forté, nor does he give much thought to it in battle. In fact, he rarely gives anything a thought when it comes to a fight, instead he just dives on in there, delighting in blowing things up and scaring innocent bystanders. That's just the way he rolls. And when the odd occasion comes when he has to face up against yet another Meister, he loves nothing more than to taunt them a little before sending them back, crying, to wherever they came from. Unless... he was in a bad mood. Then no one would be running away.
When it comes to fighting style, Akio doesn't have one in particular. Although in more recent months he has started using a spin-off of kick boxing to win his battles, preferring to use his feet rather than his hands. Combining this with magic, his natural agility and craving for chaos he can slap together an affective, albeit sloppy, string of combos with which he can easily turn the tables.
