The world was cold, void of life and of warmth.
How long had she been sleeping? The young witch was incapable of answering that. She had made a plan several days prior to ask Lord Death for protection. Even if she was to be caged inside of the Shibusen. . . at least she would no longer be hunted. Why was it so much to ask? A home. . . a family. . . that was all she truly wanted.
And so she dreamed, dreamed of a family and a life she would probably never have. But she had to try, to strive towards that goal. If she didn't, she would have no reason to wake anymore. The thought of no longer having reason terrified her, and she avoided it as best she could.
Gentle breeze, warmth spilling over the horizon, it was a ray of light that woke her. Gentle oceanic hues slowly fluttered open, first sight the rising sun above the city. She had come so close, but there was still so far to go. Would she ever reach her destination, would she ever finally attain her dream? Colors of coral and gold colored the sky above her, and for once, she woke refreshed and ready to take on the world that was against her. For once, she felt a small tint of hope glowing in the distance.
The young witch stood, wearing what looked like the under layers of a kimono. She brushed herself off, thankful that she had slept on a mass of leaves. Not a speck of dirt on her though the under layers were white. Turning to the branches beside her, the missing layers were hanging and dancing in the breeze. The clothing had always been something she loved. There was something about it, the style, that made her feel more grand. She pulled on the other two layers, one white and one colored like rose. A golden obi to hold them all together, and a charm shaped like lilies. A yawn, a stretch, and now she had to start again. She knew she could die today, or any day that she would try to gain audience with Lord Death. . . but there was no where else left for her to run.
It was dawn, the start of a new page in her life. Perhaps today she would finally make it. A smile graced pale lips, onyx hair shimmering a violet tint in the sunlight. Turning quickly, she began once more, headed for the city.
'Please. . . let me have my dream.'

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,470,true][bg=444444][atrb=background,http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/luxxray/bgpattern6.png]it seems like my eyes have been transfigured SOMETHING DEEP INSIDE HAS CHANGED - THEY'RE OPEN WIDE but hold that trigger → Thumps of a pair of boots were heard as they thundered across an untraveled path. With an exact destination in mind, the boots traveled along it's usual path through the forest of Death City. Not a single second was lost in it's usual routine that had been held for a few years since the figures arrival in the dark city. The owner of the boots held controlled breathing that would make most people gasping for air at the distance that the man would usually make in the mornings before classes. Ten kilometers weaving through the forest from his front door step back to it is his usual routine. He had never missed a single day doing it, that is until today.
Dressed in his usual training clothes with a black tank top, green trousers, knee high black boots, and his green cap he was ready for today as any other day. Pumping his arms as he weaved around a tree his blue eyes start to narrow as something comes into sight. Slowing down to a jog Hans stops with a inquiring look on his face as he comes face to face with the kimono dressed girl. "Hey you, little girl." Hans says in his usual commanding voice a tint of a German accent to it. "What are you doing in the forest so early? I'm sure you know there are classes today." Hans places his hands on his hips and starts to size the girl up. She didn't have much muscle to her, actually she looked rather frail and thin for her age. So there was no way that she was out here for a jog like Hans. Not to mention he had never seen this girl before. Perhaps she was just a citizen of the city? No, he would have seen her before. She's not something that you would miss.
Thinking about how thin this girl is, he starts to worry about her. Does she have a home? When's the last time that she ate? Are her parents around here? If so, wouldn't they be worried? Shouldn't they be taking care of her? All of these kind of questions filtered through his mind, but his face continued to look like stone. He showed not a hint of concern towards the girl and kept his stoic expression in tact. "When's the last time you ate?" Hans asks the girl. It was a question that he will have answered. Not to mention he gave her the expression that if she didn't answer him quickly she'll get into a heap of trouble. Even though he probably wouldn't touch her. His mama always told him to never touch an orphan. Kidding.

Xion was completely caught off guard. Some male had just shown up, covered in sweat, and was incredibly far from the city. How on earth would he get back in time? Clearly confused, it took a moment to register that he was actually speaking to her. Who was he? A Weapon, a Meister? No, this felt to familiar. . .
Xion stared at the other, azure hues holding her confusion and curiosity. "Classes. . .?" Did he think she was a member of the city? Impossible. Yet with her Soul Protect on, maybe he would only think of her as that. Perhaps she could have a little company for once.
"When's the last time you ate?" The question made her wonder. When was the last time she had eaten? Xion looked rather embarrassed as a shade of coral crossed her cheeks. "I-I'm not sure. I don't eat much. . . B-but that's okay!" Trying to reassure him that it was okay to starve, made her sound crazy. Xion froze, unsure of what to say or what to do. "U-uh, so, classes? H-how are you going to get back in time?" She had to pull his attention away from her disgustingly thin form.
It felt so strange, to be conversing with another being aside from herself. At least. . . for a mere moment, she could have a little happiness, and feel a small tint of what it was like to be normal.
