"Everyone's invited to come to my house tonight for Maka's 16th birthday. We'll have a bonfire in the backyard, so don't dress too warm. I'll do my best to supply the usual, just make sure you get her good birthday presents. I don't want to hear her whine about it after everyone leaves." The demon scythe came onto the intercom with the monotone voice that gave off that he really didn't give a damn what everyone did. Maka was turning a big number though and that was definitely something to celebrate, whether he really felt like a party or not. Riiiiiing Classes were out and Soul began to make his way home alone. He wasn't really sure what it was Maka was doing, but he made sure to send her away for a while so that he could get the preparations done. It wasn't a surprise party, but she had specifically instructed him not to go all out with it. But since when did he start listening to her? He had so much party stuff at his house ready, she had no idea. As soon as he made it in the door, he took off his shoes and got to work. Streamers, balloons, cake, you name it Soul had it. Hours had gone by before he finally had decorated the entire house and the backyard. Sticks and wood were piled nicely ready for fire, this party was going to be amazing. It was getting close to time for everyone to get here, but he wasn't really sure what time Maka was going to come home. This was definitely going to be interesting.

Bellinda eyed Soul's home, having caught word of an all-invited party. She had a small present for Maka, but Bells was rather a stranger to both. Bellinda had small nervous inside her, but she set up her confidence, and she approached the house, small, wrapped gift in hand. She always had soul protect on in Death City, along with her casual tee shirt and jeans -- Bellinda was disguised as a normal teenager.
Bellinda knocked on the front door, not sure if she was early or late. She waited patiently, her present resting on the palm of her hand, and resting against her chest. She waited another minute, pondering to herself about what might go on.

JUST LOOK INTO YOUR HEART, MY FRIEND, that will be the return to yourself, the return to innocence The middle of class was the worst place you could be when it seemed like time had stopped couldn’t it have stopped somewhere more convenient, like if he was in a mall or something? Or a beach, or if he’d regained his eyesight for just a nanosecond. Why did it have to seem to freeze in the middle of a lecture, a blossoming headache and nothing to do. He could only think: think about what it was like to have vision, to remember all he’d seen when he had been able to. It almost had on the verge of tears with irritation and sadness, but the sound of the intercom buzzing into life had cheered him up, and then shocked him as the sound of Soul Evans filled the room. Everybody paused, the teacher stopped and muttering burst out across the room.
Ashley tilted his head to one side, slowly packing his stuff away, staring at the clock above him. The ripples in the air, caused by the second hand kept him on suspense. Did he go? Should he really do something like that? It was hard to tell. He didn’t want to go anywhere he wasn’t allowed, but then again, it had been an open invitation by the albino boy. Frustration built up in him like the a reactor in nuclear meltdown. Then the bell rang, and he was up over the desk in a fraction of a second, and out the door. He was in a hurry, but with no real idea why, it was easy to see why he had a look of confusion on his face as he blasted down the corridors. People looked at him with strange faces, burrowed brows and freaked frowns. All of which he never picked up on. He leaped out side and instead of going down the steps, he thought he’d test out his free-running skill.
He made a leap off of the school ledge, rolling forward as he hit grass, instantly throwing himself up with his hands and rushing forward. He came to another stair case, jumping onto the wide walls on the side, rushing down with almost incredible speed. It seemed to be one of those days when he could just keep on running and never stop. The wind howled in his ears and the cold air cooled his stressful face. It felt like freedom as he ran, freedom of thought. He wondered why he wasn’t born a Meister. He was to quick, to strategic for a weapon. He should have been a Meister, take up a weapon and take pride in that power. But no, he was a weapon. The easiest job of all, and also utterly useless.
He smiled as he hit the ground running, not to cautious around cobble stones. He managed do to a few more impressive jumps and twists before finally arriving at his apartment. He dumped his stuff down and headed straight for the mirror in the bathroom. While he couldn’t pick up on any details, he could tell more about his face than anybody else’s. He could tell he was what some girls described as ‘cute’ and in the midrange of feminine. He wasn’t sure if that was good or bad, but didn’t dwell over in much.
He strode into his bedroom, opening his wardrobe, but fell backward onto his bed. He looked around. It felt empty. He needed something, but he wasn’t sure what. A pet? A roommate? It was one of the two, ad he didn’t know which one he needed more than the other. Someone to talk to, or something to love? Love was an emotion he knew very little about, not even having those feelings for anyone since he was born. He was also the school’s ‘Snow White’. thinking about the symbolism of the colour, he had worked out what it meant and had been somehow ashamed. He knew he shouldn’t be, he was only seventeen… but he was completely ‘snow white’ in every aspect of the symbol. White was the colour of a dress traditionally worn by brides. It symbolised virginity. The more he thought about it, the more clean he felt, although perhaps in a bad way.
Ashley finally got up, and pulled out a waistcoat, white dress shirt, jeans and a tie. He didn’t want to look a mess, but he didn’t want to look completely posh. He stripped and changed into the new outfit, and managed to find a shoulder bag which he could fit a small -but powerful- CD player/docking station and a few bit’s and bobs for Maka. He found a bit of money he had been given by his parents and headed down to the shops. He looked down the street, trying to pick a place to look for Maka-esque presents. He roamed around before spotting a book shop, smiling and delving into books for any he suspected Maka might like. He bought three, and then headed to the music store. Folk, was it? He picked up two copies of Early in the Morning by James McMarrow, an acoustic feel that he crossed his fingers that Maka would find to her tastes. He quickly bought a card and wrote it out, buying a nice bag to put it all in carefully, and decided that he should head on down to Soul and Maka’s place.
He arrived a few minutes later, running different scenarios through his head. He knew it wouldn’t help him in any way, but a man can hope and fail miserably. He took a deep breath, then noticing a young woman beside him. He hadn’t seen her around before, and he wasn’t even sure if he’d come to the right place now. He started to panic, but then found himself turning to the woman.
“Hey, you here for the party?” he asked with a bright smile, “I thought that it would be good to get to know some of the students around here, I’m Ashley Shaw, by the way.” The poor boy didn’t even know who he was talking to. He didn’t even suspect she was a witch, since this was Death City. He didn’t expect it here, even with all that had gone on in the place a few years before. You would have though he’d been a little more aware.

The Angels Were All Wrong Now She's Ripping Wings Off Of Butterflies Parvana had heard about the party Soul was throwing for Maka. She didn't like either, but she wasn't about to rip their heads off either. She could somehow manage to overcome the hatred for tonight, and she had a feeling she wouldn't be the only witch attending. She liked danger sometimes, so she planned to dress in her best attire. Who knows who would be there to enjoy the scene? She went to her closet and pulled out a yellow dress. She grinned, it was one of her favorites. Next she moved to get her heels with the little flower on them. She could have worn the ones with the butterflies, but she questioned if that would be too obvious or not. With a shrug, she slipped on the flower shoes and pulled the dress on over her white slip. She tugged at her white hair before letting it fall wherever it pleased. She spritzed herself with a flowery perfume and finished off the look with a ring Moth had given her centuries ago when she was a child. "I feel like a butterfly!" She laughed to herself, placing Soul Protect over herself just in case. Parvana snatched up the small package she had picked up for Maka-it was a gold necklace with a small flower pendant. It was wrapped elegantly in gold wrapping with a big black bow. She stepped out of her home and walked down the street. She hated walking in the dark, she much preferred daylight. The nearly ancient witch looked no older than 16, and it was perfect for the occasion. She loved to look young. Nearing the house, she spotted two figures at the door. One a man, and the other a woman, a very familiar woman. "Bellinda.." She muttered under her breath, she was a witch as well. She had completely missed all the bits of conversation, and only saw their mouths moving. She walked up to the two with a hint of happiness and confidence before flashing the two a smile. She wrapped an arm around Bellinda and gave her a content hug. "Bells!" She said with an over-exaggerated squeal. She wasn't friends with her, but she needed to keep up a humanly, teenage aura about herself around children who went to Death Academy. Outfit: CLICK Tags: Soul, Soulix, Fairytale, open

Bellinda inched to the side with discomfort as Ashley spoke to her. She had an avoiding look on her face with him, remaining silent for a brief second. She leaned against the door, with a shadowy camouflage -- Although Ashley still could've completely been noticed from anybody why looked her way. "Hm." she hummed, a slow nod as she looked towards the street ahead.
She was in a small trance, until Parvana gave her the hug. She broke out of her silence, making a small mutter. "Uh -- Hi." Bellinda hid her blush, growing more comfortable with a third guest. She always became uneasy around men, for reasons.
She ruffled her hair, not looking as talkative as she really is. Her hair stayed kempt, unflailed and smooth, but her clothes were a little too casually unkempt for her beautiful hair.
Bellinda pondered to her self continuously about the two, eyeing between each of them with inquisitive emotions. She hunched her back, and stuffed her hands into her pockets, becoming a little more eager for the party.

She sighed. Soul had sent her out, most likely to stay away while he prepared her party. She didn't want him to make a big event out of and had explicitly told him that, but since when did Soul listen to her. Maka didn't exactly know what to do until the party, as she didn't really have much to do anyways. Soul had invited everyone in Death City to the party, she wasn't sure that everyone would show up though.
Maka sat down in the park, and looked around. She was wearing her Spartoi outfit. "Maybe I should change... I guess I can go to the store and get something." She thought it to herself, but her body was moving before the thought finished. She pushed open the door to the Clothing Store downtown and softly greeted the woman behind the desk. She sifted through various shelves and finally came across a ruffled black dress. The dress was tight near the top, and lace covered her arms and just below her neck. The part below her waist was slightly looser, ruffled. She paid for it quickly and changed into it in the dressing room. She found a pair of black heels at another store downtown, and pulled her hair out of the pigtails and let it fall down.
She took her Spartoi outfit in a bag at her side that had the name of the clothing store on the side. She headed down into the housing district, where her, Soul and Blair lived. "I hope Soul didn't invite Papa." She thought the words aloud, and she was nearing their apartment. She heard a groan from nearby, who she knew was her Papa, and she heard his footsteps going in the other direction.
She let out a small breath and stepped up the stairs slowly to their apartment. She reached the end of the hall. She had a key, but for some reason, felt the need to knock. She raised her hand to the door and pounded it against the door several times, and then waited for Soul to open the door. "It's me Soul."

[/div] Welcoming the guests into the room, he really practically ignored them all. They were steadily shuffling into the house as he was waiting for the guest of honor to arrive and he had to say that he was quite nervous. It had been a while before he had been around this many people at once. The demon scythe cleared his throat as he began to welcome the guests into the room and looked past them waiting for Maka. She sure was being slow today. Today of all days she had to be late. Even though he didn't tell her a particular time to get there, he still felt it was a little rude of her to keep him waiting after all the work he had put into the party. There were a few students he recognized from the classroom and a few that kind of made him a little nervous about letting in, as he had never seen them before. He didn't let that stop him, Soul kept poking his head out the door and back and forth searching for any sign of Maka behind them. Sweat drops beaded his face when she was no where to be seen. A sigh escaped his lips and he pulled his head back in the door and began making his way back to the kitchen to check on refreshments. He slowly poured cups full of punch and got the cake ready to be looked at. Got the candles set and the lighter ready. Everything was completely perfect. People were mingling, the food and bonfire were ready, all they needed was Maka. About the time of that though, someone knocked on the door and Soul heard Maka's voice. Soul practically skipped to the door as he opened it in. "Bout time you got here." She looked beautiful in that black dress, that was always his favorite color on her, he smiled and let her in. Maka blushed for a moment. She could tell Soul thought her dress was flattering, just as she did, but she didn't exactly know how to respond. "Well... yo-you never told me when to be here. Did you do all this for me?"
Maka knew she'd always felt feelings for Soul, but she never really expressed them. But nobody, not even her mother had gone through this much trouble for her birthday. "Soul there are so many people here, some I don't even know!" She had told him not to invite too many people to her birthday, but she figured he'd gone through enough trouble that this wasn't something she needed to mention.
She took Soul by the hand, trying to hide her blushing red cheeks. She pulled him to her bedroom and closed the door behind her. "Soul, this is amazing. I don't want anyone to see me cry... but this is the most that anyone has ever cared about me." She felt a small tear fall down her cheek, but she knew it was deeper than just happiness about the party, though she didn't mention that to Soul. "So, what do we have planned for tonight, good host?"

[/div] Soul's blush grew deeper as she took his hand and drug him to her room. She had never seen this side of her before, why was she showing it to him now? It wasn't like her. This made him kind of nervous, he just wasn't used to her showing this side of her so easily. He knew she had a side like this, but she was never this open about it. Soul raised his hand and placed it nervously behind his head, gently scuffling his hair. He smiled and laughed, "It wasn't too much trouble, it'll be more trouble if you don't go out to spend time with your guests though." This was a little more than he could handle, her acting like this made him blush slightly. He nonchalantly looked away, in his usual 'no big deal' attitude. "Well, there is firewood outside that I'll use to make a bonfire for later. I was planning on doing that after you opened your presents and ate your cake." He was actually pretty impressed with how many people showed up. He had invited practically the entire town, even though a couple their friends seemed to ditch, they had a good show up. "Your friends are all waiting on you," Soul said opening the door and extending a hand to allow her to leave first. "So go on and enjoy your birthday. You deserve it." credits :: by FAIRYTALE of soul resonance!

Maka smiled at Soul, because he seemed to be treating her right tonight. She thanked him for being a gentleman, and she stepped out of the room. She started to make her way to their living room/kitchen area, where most of the party was taking place. There were tons of guests, just as before, though even more now. "Did Blair let them in while we were gone?" her mind wondered.
She made her way to the two open cushions on the couch, one space for her and one for Soul. She pushed the back of her dress flat and then took a seat in front of the coffee table that was now covered with presents. The first she saw was Papa's in a short, long box. She only hoped he didn't send her 'sexy panties' like last year and then pretend it's a normal gift to get your daughter. She saw Soul's box there too, and Blair's. She noticed several others, from Kid, Liz, Patty, Tsubaki & Black*Star. Of course Black*Star neglected to bring a gift, and Tsubaki had to squeeze his name on the tag before they got here.
She reached out for Soul's present first. She looked over at him next to her on the couch. She hoped that he'd gotten her one of the two things she wanted. She wanted this book that she had never been able to get at the library, about Black Blood. But what she wanted more was the half-heart necklace. It was silver, and a half of a heart charm hung at the end. She wanted Soul to wear the other half, or keep the charm somewhere, like on a key ring or something. She didn't know why she wanted it, she just did. She looked at him, then back at the present and tore open the wrapping paper.

Sorry this took me so long, I've been studying a whole lot and trying to get my grades back up before it's too late >.< I'll do better by the time you reply next! [/div] Soul smiled as he watched her look somewhat baffled at what she should do next. She seemed happy, but something was bothering her slightly. He had gotten used to picking up on her signals and figuring out if she was upset or not. I guess it just came with being her weapon. Was it all the people that had shown up that was bothering her? Or could it be the gift? He had no idea if he had gotten her what she wanted. The demon weapon had tried for weeks to find her a gift that she would actually like and he was even forced to ask for help from Tsubaki. It was nice to have her as a friend who could find out what she wanted for him, but she sure was hard to talk to. At least hard for him. It wasn't easy asking for help for something like that. I mean it was a gift. Soul walked over slowly and sat next to his meister. His heart sped up some, starting to get nervous about the small little gift he had finally bought for her. Tsubaki had pointed out the two halves of a heart necklace that Maka had told her she wanted for her birthday, unfortunately, Soul wasn't able to afford it. He did find another necklace that she helped him pick out. This necklace had a silver chain and a small ruby colored heart on the end of it. He had thought it looked pretty cool and hoped she would approve of it, even though it wasn't exactly what she wanted. Worse comes to worse, hopefully someone else got her a present she would like better than his. He was never good at picking out presents, but he really did try. "I'm sorry, I know you wanted something else, but this was as close to it as I could get on my budget..." He hoped that this wouldn't cause her to be upset at him, but it was a possibility. His eyes hit the ground and waited for her reaction as she tore open the wrapping paper. credits :: by FAIRYTALE of soul resonance!
