MEISTER
[/font][/blockquote][/blockquote]Name: Catalina Valentine
Alias: Cat ; Cattie ; 'Lina
Gender: Female.
Age: 16 1/2
Meister Level: one (people suggested that)
Appearance:
Catalina Valentine-Everyday Wear
Catalina Valentine-Serious Wear
Catalina is of around normal height, at about 5'3". She has golden eyes, some would consider it of a topaz origin, and some of the lighter brown region, although she prefers her eyes to be called Golden, or even honey. She is slender, with an average breast size. Her legs are long, and her body is relatively thin, with no defined muscle tone. She smiles alot, and tends to make hand signals, such as a "thumbs-up".
She is somewhat pale, with a hint of peachy-ness to her skin tone. She has thick lashes, and slender fingers. A trademark of hers is the yellow ribbon she wears around her hair most of the time, it has bows on either side of her head, with cascading ribbons on either side.
In her serious attire, she wears as seen above, with a short skirt of matching color, and white knee-socks, accompanied with brown slippers. In her everyday attire, she wears as seen, sometimes without the jacket if the weather is warm enough, although normally she likes to wear it, no matter the weather.
Personality: Catalina's personality can vary at times. Normally, she is a very laid-back girl, with tendencies to be a bit ditzy. She sometimes loses her train of thought mid-sentence, and changes the subject. She would like to be friends with everyone, yet she doesn't have the patience to deal with certain individuals. As that's another negative quality she posesses. She has a terrible habit of having very low patience and tolerance of others. Also, she can be very blunt, and she doesn't care what others think of her opinions, as she also thinks that she doesn't have to live up to anyone's standards but her own, and the standards her teachers set.
Despite that, she can be very good at analyzing situations before jumping into them. Yet if she becomes too impatient with herself she will jump into a situation without a second thought. Catalina is a very selfless person when it comes to fighting. She tries to be defensive more than offensive, as she doesn't want others, such as her friends, getting hurt.
Catalina is often considered a bookworm, yet she doesn't read all that much. In her spare time, she likes to read or draw. When she was younger she was a bit fidgety, and even today she's known to fidget in uncomfortable situations. She can also be a bit introverted at times. Yet Catalina manages to come off timid and kind, and deep down inside, that's what she truly is.
In a fight, she's tough, even though she's not very strong at heart or at mind. She enjoys a good, drawn-out battle, but is perfectly fine with ending it quick so she can go home and relax, yes, she's even lazy at times. Yet, Catalina sometimes loses her train of thought during battle, so her weapon would have to be able to think quickly to get her back on track.
History:
The Early Years...
As a child, she was very happy with her life. She lived with her older sister, as her mother and father died not very long after she was born. Yet this didn't bother her, as she didn't know them, so she didn't miss them as much as her older sister did. She enjoyed the childlike things, such as playing with dolls, and roaming the yard trying to catch birds or butterflies. Her favorite, though, was playing with dolls. She didn't care for the chilly air too much, and the two lived in northern Ohio, so sunny days weren't as often as cool, cloudy days. Yet during the summers, she made the most of it. She bonded with her sister the most during these sunny times. In fact, one of her most prominent childhood memories is going to the lake with her and swimming until the sun went down. This part of her life was mainly happy, with little to no bad memories.
Not Quite A Teenager
Around the age of 6, she discovered that her sister was a weapon. At first, she didn't understand what this meant, so her meister, which was an older man at the time, explained to her meisters and weapons. At first she didn't understand, but quickly grew accustomed to seeing her sister in weapon form, and the old man's company. She began to view the man like her dad, because that's how he treated both her and her sister. She ran around in the yard with him on sunny days, he built her a birdhouse, and the trio would occasionally go out for ice cream. This old man also taught her how to be confident and not to take any orders from anyone except those who mattered. She got alot of her personality traits from him, and he also helped her train to become a better, more compatable meister. When she was nearly 10, tragedy struck. Her sister's meister, the old man, was attacked by a witch. Without Catalina's sister, he died in the attack. Catalina and her sister, Mary, grieved for months. That was her first experience with evil, and she slowly began to grow a terrible distaste for it.
Teenage Years
At age 13, she began training with her sister to build her strength, as her sister saw that it was obvious Catalina wasn't a weapon. This was when she began to develop her fidgety ways and trail off. She used this as a defense against her sister when she would become angry at her. She would blame all of her faults on her personality, which wasn't at all that bad. She never defined her muscles, although she did improve in her endurance.
She continued to live with her sister until she was 14, when she finally had enough of fighting with her. She roamed the countryside alone, taking up room and board wherever she could. She tried to remain under the radar and stay out of trouble, as she didn't want to end up like the old man that died just years before she was 14. After a few months of this, however, she returned. She became too homesick, and many people got tired of her behavior problems.
Now...
Mary had tried multiple times before to get Catalina to go to Death Weapon Meister Academy, but she was too stubborn. Nearly 5 months after her 16th birthday, she tried again. This time, Cat was more receptive, listening as her sister told her about how well the students were taught, and how much she would learn by going there. Yet she still continued to be stubborn, complaining that she wanted to be Mary's meister. Yet Mary refused, due to Catalina never being a true meister before. However, she promised that as soon as she was finished at Death Academy, she could try to be her weapon, that is, if she didn't gain a loyal, lifelong weapon. Which was what she hoped for.
So now, she journeyed out into uncharted territory. She wears her heart on her sleeve and hopes for the best, willing to do whatever for the fight on the good side, and become the greatest meister in her family's history.

RP Sample: Catalina stepped out from the small apartment she was renting. The cool morning breeze awoke all of her senses still dulled from her slumber. She stretched her arms and pulled her jacket around her tightly. Sometimes she hated mornings, but today she was feeling quite the opposite.
She pulled her long hair out from her jacket and let it bounce along as she walked down the streets. She had nothing better to do. Cat was still so new, so unfamiliar, so backwards. She hadn't managed to make any real friends that she could carry out a conversation with, much less spend the morning with. Even worse, she had yet to gain a weapon. She had seen others, and it looked like they were always with one another. It was like a weapon wouldn't go without his or her meister, and the same reversed. She didn't quite understand the power of the bond yet, but everytime she would see such a pair, a little part of her would begin to feel lonely. Yet she had to face it like a woman, put her big girl panties on and look at the world with a defiant face, showing them that nothing could bring her down.
Her feet clicked along the sidewalk.

She listened to the consistent beat of her shoes as she ran her hands through the long brunette locks. A bird flew overhead, and she looked up at it with an eased smile. "Maybe I should take this on at a different perspective..." She muttered to herself. She thought that possibly, she was going about this whole, weapon and meister bonding thing wrong. She just needed to gain a new look on all of the things.
