| [atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width: 255;] The sun was out and laughing once again, heating up Death City to an almost unbearable temperature. Akio didn't mind it terribly much though, hot was much better than cold in his opinion, and besides, weather like this meant only one thing: ice-cream. And lots of it. So far he was on his second cone, licking away hungrily at it the way a child might do, narrow auburn eyes slitted against the extortionate amount of glare that fell from the sky. Ah, nothing was better than three scoops of mint-choc chip on a blisteringly hot day like today - especially in such a beautiful place like Death City. Heh, in fact, Akio couldn't help but find the whole situation rather humorous. Here he was, with the body and soul of a Witch, and they didn't even have a clue... all he had to do was turn of his Soul Protect and bam. Instant chaos.
Of course, Akio was not stupid - doing such a reckless thing like that would mean certain death, but even with his magic protecting him from Lord Death's grasp, he couldn't change his face from what the wanted posters depicted. He was still wary, and left no one in the park unchecked. Luckily for him he blended in quite well with the Death City crowd, but these Meister's... they could smell an outsider from a mile away, and it only took one clever mind to send him to his doom... Hands spasming with a sudden nervousness, Akio took one last sweep of his surroundings before swallowing down the last of his ice-cream, wiping his fingers down his trousers. For a moment he simply stopped and admired the view of the park from his perch on a bench, his uncertain gaze leaving nothing to spare. Children ran and screamed while adults talked lazily in the mid-morning sun... a perfectly normal scene.
And yet he hated it. He hated the peacefulness of it all, the luxury that Death and all his little minions had here, safe in their own little bubble. Protected from the madness outside. He wanted to watch it burn, letting the gates open so the hate would flood everything. The thought bought a smile to the corners of his lips, and reddening eyes slid down to study his shoes. Ah, now that would be bliss, and in his mind he could imagine it perfectly. Most feared the madness, but he relished in it. Sighing inwardly, the youth readjusted the headphones perched over his ears before crossing his arms and lounging back in his seat, fluffy crimson hair falling over his eyes. But that image was for another day, a day when Akio was up for the task. Right now all he wanted to do was sit back and feel the warmth of the mocking light above him on his face.
Even destruction was aloud to take a break, right?

Jade's eyes flickered constantly between the ice cream stand and the cone in some man's hand. She hated sweets, detested them actually. They were fattening and bad for the figure, and beauty was important. She came off as shallow, though that wasn't exactly the case. She cared about plenty of other things, she just enjoyed making others feel bad. It wasn't that she always craved it, it was just something about her.
Her eyes finally moved the kid's hair. He wasn't exactly a kid, but it felt more fitting to call him that. Jade knew something was up with this dude, but she didn't exactly know what. He ate with comfort, but seemed distressed, as though hiding something.... or suppressing envy about something that others had. Jade felt that feeling only once or twice, because she often used whatever resources she had to get what she wanted.
She pushed her hair out of her eyes, displeased with the mangled appearance of it. At least, she thought it was mangled, despite there being only one single strand out of place. She took pride in her beauty, and it was only natural to do so. Everything was like a game to Jade, and she was the player, controlling others in order to win and taste success. But, finally, she managed to turn her attention back to the hideous hair of the kid who was already on his second ice cream.
"You seem more concerned with that ice cream than you do with your disgustingly mangled hair." Jade rolled her eyes. This person was clearly spending his time sitting leisurely, doing nothing and getting nothing done. Jade always felt a need to get everything done, and always needed to be doing something, wether it be improving someone's hair, or figuring out a way to avoid getting affected by the new madness wavelength.
"You should take pride in your appearance and spending your time in the park eating ice cream isn't the way to do it." As if only to prove her point, she looked at her nails, which were perfect as usual. She spent an awful lot of her father's cash getting them done, partially because she felt more beautiful and was, but it was mostly to run her rich, despicable father dry. Her only desire was to spend his money, so that he had to work for Jade's own expenses. It was her own way of spiting him in return for Jade's mother's death.
She looked away from the disfigured hair, and turned her back. "Honestly, do you even care about your appearance?" TAGGED • akio WORDS • 441 MUSIC • beggin' on your knees - victoria justice NOTES • kinda short. blech. coded by lovesolfege of ote! |

| [atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width: 255;] The crimson orbs had been closed for a matter of moments before they opened again, the shadow of the young girl momentarily blocking the suns light and alerting her presence to Akio. He hesitated at first, wondering if he was just overeating or if someone actually wanted something from him. Deciding it wouldn't hurt either way, the young man slid his gaze upwards with about as much interest as he could muster (which wasn't an awful lot) to stare his 'visitor' in the face.
He was surprised to find a girl standing in front of him, and at once he inwardly scolded himself for being so presumptions. After all, what was he expecting? The police? Giving his head a little shake, he dragged his attention back to girl and focused in on her, instantly curious as to what she required of him. It's not like girls who looked as well-off as she did strolled up to him on a daily biases. In fact, Akio couldn't even remember the last time someone had approached him out of choice. But he still had to be careful, even if she did appear relatively harmless, the smell of grandeur and luxury emanating off her in invisible waves. Luckily he could hide his sneer as a consequence of the sun, shielding his eyes slightly to further con her in believing her he wasn't pulling a face of disgust.
And then? Well, then she spoke words that buried themselves like daggers into Akio's skin, and the youth felt his jaw drop slightly in stunned amazement. Was she for real? Was all his mind could think to say as he froze on the spot, eyes wide open and cheeks flushed red. Now, Akio had been badmouthed thousands of times before; it was an occupational hazard for God's sake. You couldn't just go around being a Witch without having a few curses thrown at you, but it wasn't the offensive nature with which she spoke that stunned him.
It was the pure randomness of it.
What kind of person walked up to a stranger who was minding their own business and then comment on their appearance? It just... didn't happen.
So for that simple reason, Akio couldn't help but burst into a fit of laughter, the shock gone from his face at once. "Brilliant!" He howled, "Really, I'm not even joking, that's just brilliant! He sighed shakily, the laughter ebbing away as he settled down, relishing even further in the fact she didn't look like the kind who enjoyed being laughed at.
"But if you must know," he chuckled, waggleing a finger at her and ignoreing the many glances he'd gotten from passers by, "I couldn't give a damn about the way I look, sorry to disappoint."
