The sounds of feet plod down heavy in the empty echo of morning. The dew drops still clung to plants and grass while an early morning mist, light mind you, wafted in the air. It was about 7 am, an hour before classes started, roughly half an hour before Aclime usually left his dorm. Today wasn’t a special occasion or anything. There was no planned meeting, no getting to class any earlier than usual, or even just longing about. Rather… without a demon weapon partner, Aclime hadn’t been allowed on any missions. Sure, that meant no possible life or death dangers, but it also meant little physical activity unless he picked fights, something he promised he wouldn’t do without a reason.
To be quite frank, Aclime was starting to get out of form, out of shape, as one might call it. Oh sure, with this small and then of a body, no one would notice at all. Yet, if they did, with his child like face, they’d likely just call it baby fat. Aclime could tell the difference though. He never was never the type to build up mountains of muscles, but what he did have, was fairly solid and chiseled, if from nothing else but daily use. Here now, he could see that his arms had gotten bit rounded, calve muscles a tad bit softer. And so he was running now.
If he ever truly wished the build upper body strength, it was relatively easy to do so in a short time. There were stomach crunches, pushups, pull ups, and even weight lifting. Heck, if all else failed and he was incredibly desperate, there was always steroids, and their side effects. Nothing, however, could replace good old cardio. And for Aclime, until he took the plunge into desperation, he needed every bit of speed and foot work he could use. Of course, more endurance never hurt anything either.
Thus, he picked up the pace a good bit. This moderating thing was only useful in the beginning, while his body was just waking up. With the wind in his ears, he began to show less attention to the cement before him. It was at that point where one of his feet hooked into a plastic that blew by in the morning breeze. 2 steps later, the other foot got tangled in it, without him slowing down any. Almost immediately, he tripped and stumbled, down. He managed to catch himself with his hands, but now that brought about the problem of his hands which now stung from the pavement. It would be very embarrassing if someone saw me right now… he thought to himself.
