Death City was having an unusual effect on Meister Dean Collins. He found himself doing stuff here that he'd rarely done in his whole life. For example, explore the great outdoors. He'd never been a wild lifey kinda guy and it was slightly suprising when he found his feet leading him here, into the forest of all places. He stood out like a sorethumb, or to be more accurate. He stood out like a guy in a leather jacket with a sex pistols t-shirt on standing in the forest. 'Can't get much simpler than that.' Dean thought to himself. He had to admit the place of extremely peaceful and the air was a little bit fresher than the main city. Being a slight book worm he was imaging bringing a nice book down, finding a good spot, kick back and enjoy. This probably wouldn't happen though. He couldn't be bothered with all the planning involved.
Dean veered off of the path and ventured between the trees. He could hear running water, not a harsh sound but gentle and soothing. He felt drawn to it and momentarily forgot, whatever short plans he had about returning to the city swiftly. This elusive stream was still nowhere to be seen. The slight frustration he felt passed as the sound grew closer and closer as he homed in on it. A beautiful clearing opened up infront of him and Dean stopped short, staring. The stream wasn't that wide but it appeared to capture the main attention of the wood. So soft yet so energetic. There had not been such a valued treasure at home, he'd heard stories or seen pictures. Images that compared to this were usually majestic and powerful, but it captivated him due to it's simplicity. It was so small and minor that it shouldn't matter to anyone, and yet it somejpw did. With a cold slide inside he realised he was comparing a river to himself. At a snap of twigs he spun round. Not too close to him but someone was near. Whether ill intended or innocent as snow had remained to be seen. A firm beleiver in innocent until proven guilty allowed him to call out. "Hello?" A few short seconds passed before he continued. "Is there anyone there?"

It stomped at the ground at small green plants. It flickered no interest, it must have mistaken the plants for something else. It snorted, backed away, and continued its search. Why was it lost? Easy. There were no deer in the City forest. It just wasn't possible. The city limits continued to expand, cutting down trees, sending animals inhabiting the forest running, flying, swimming to get away from all of the humans. The forest used to be flourishing with life, water, trees, misc. until Death City was built and this little town became a city. Every animal has a job. Destroying is a human's job. Or as we call it, 'building'.
A girl, 5'3", had her back to a tree, keeping a close eye on the deer. This was what she had come out here to do: kill. It wouldn't surprise her if the pink hair that hung over her shoulders gave away her position. The deer would turn and notice the lost and found resting next to the girl's foot. She wrapped her fingers around an arrow, pulled it out of the quiver casually slung over her shoulder. She placed the arrow in the bow she was holding carefully, then pulled it back. She released the arrow. It landed in the doe's hind leg. It darted away, stumbling every few steps. The girl following close behind.
She lost the animal, panting - gasping for breath. The girl leaned against a tree. She smashed a fist into the bark, pulling her hand away she licked the crisp blood from her knuckles. 'How annoying! I've been chasing that deer, all week!!! Now it will never come back...' She closed her eyes. A few moments later, she opened them. Stepping away from the trunk she immediately stepped on a twig. Soon after, she heard a panicked voice. "Hello? Is there anyone there?" The young woman walked toward the voice. "Um... hi." She said, checking out this.. person.
note; chase is half weapon, half meister. her case is similar to maka's in the anime. but she doesn't know she's a weapon as well. she believes she's a meister.

So this...girl had been the source of the noise? Well, she had certainly came from that direction. Logic dictated it was her, either way there had been someone there, and she fitted in here waaaaaaaaaaay more than he did. Dean usually took in every detail when he met a new person. But his eyes were drawn to the bow and arrows she carried. 'Well' Dean thought to himself 'She sure as hell ain't getting mugged.' This girl had completely taken him by suprise, and so his tone had altered slighlty as she approached. Silently scolding himself he tried to smile. Any animals that had been in the area had mysteriously vanished. Dean gazed at her bow again.'Hmmm, no kidding'. If he was a fluffy little bunny, and saw this girl stroll along packing the hunting gear he'd have hopped outta there with his tail between his legs. However, those disturbing thoughts aside, he was not a cuddly fluffy bunny and he felt no urges to run away.
When she spoke Dean noted her tone to be....awkwardness? He wasn't sure. At this thought his curiousity was sparked into life. Life someone had thrown a match into an oil well. Who was she? And why did she come equipped as one of Robina Hoodes merry band of women? He noticed the quiver wasn't full and made a rough estimate she'd fired recently. Either that or she was just really lazy this morning when she filled it up. He smiled slightly at this wry thought and, incase he appeared to be smirking or sinister, stretched into a full warm grin. "Sorry, I was curious who was there." With the nagging feeling this was not enough he introduced himself. "My names Dean, I'm a meister at Shibusen. Pleasure to meet you." He would have offered his hand but they weren't near enough each other to do it, and it mighta looked weird. And the last thing he wanted was a chance shot from her. Sure he could dodge well enough, but his odds for longe range were slim and he wasn't really sure it would end well for him. Ahh what cheerful thoughts to be calculating in his head. Even though a few seconds had passed Dean focused on her incase he accidently ignored her.

The air was crisp, and her skin ached telling her bad weather was on its way. The boy spoke, and the girl stared at him. Her eyes held not a single strand of wonder. Only bare bitterness. "That's nice..." She was kind of expecting a weapon. She had been looking for one for quite some time now. Envy overwhelmed her when she gazed at her friends. They all had weapons and meisters. But every weapon that asked to be her weapon were weak things that shouldn't even be called a weapon. Because ... well ... they weren't weapons. Just wannabes. "I am Chase Amagai. I'm a meister at the Shibusan Academy, and a spartoi member.". She said it rather smoothly, and act as if she'd rehearsed it a thousand times before.
Dark clouds hovered above, the occasional thunder shook the air and Chase shook her head. "Come with me. Unless you're planning to dance in the rain and chanting some kind of witch magic to make the rain stop." She bared a serious face, but on the inside she was trying to mix some humor into her conversation. She felt so stiff~. She turned away swiftly, her hair flowing in waves. Chase occasionally glanced over her shoulder to check and see if ... er ... Dean were following. The lightning became more clearer, and it had begun to sprinkle.
Planting herself underneath a huge leaf that hung off of a branch nine feet above. "So... are you rich or are you poor?"
note;; naturally since chase is shilo and stephanie's daughter, she has inherited both of their strength (they are both spartoi) so she is a spartoi member as well.

She sounded quite resentful, Crap. For a few seconds he was wary of the bow but danger passed without their being a hint of threat. He really didnt like archery. "Chase, that's a nice name." He smiled as he fell in line close behind her. The weather had turned rather annoying right now and it did not bode well for his leather. He'd have to dry it properly when he got in. "Nope, I'd just hide under my Weapon as soon as I get one. Rain doesn't agree with this jacket." She seemed to be putting on a false exterior. She occassionally glance back at him and Dean took this to be a sign she wasn't contemplating violence. One of the best news that he'd recieved all day. Whatever plans of rushing back home to read were definetly long gone. This had interested him beyond fiction and he was determined to have a good conversation.
The day had started out okay, not too good not too bad. This rain was murder though. It begun to calm but Dean was still glad of the giant leaf the hovered before them. Chase sat under it's "shade" and Dean followed suit. "That's an unnusual question to launch into conversation with." Dean grinned,"Usually people only ask that if they are plannin' to marry into some money. I ain't available." After a moments silence."Okay I'm kidding but its as good a way as any to break the ice. Supposed you could also chuck a polar bear at it but hey! Who's counting? I'm kinda half and quarter. I'm from a poor town and family but I picked up side jobs over the years so I'm doing okay for myself. But not rich. Why though, what are you? Rich or poor?"

She nodded and act as if she cared as he went on about how she was going to purpose to him or something like that. Finally he stated that he was poor. "I'm not going to purpose to you. Duh, you're too young for me. My parents wouldn't allow it, not one bit~." She didn't make any other comments about what he said, because they would be rude comments. "You could call me.... average." Chase did not go into detail. That was all she said.
She heard a crackle of leaves. She faced the direction it was coming from, it was a deer. She pushed a finger to her lips, motioning for Dean to be quiet, and loaded another arrow. She pulled it back, concentrating like she had never before. Taking a moment to see if it was the same deer (still in the position.) she confirmed it, then released the arrow. It hit its chest. The deer fell to the ground. Chase fistpump'd, grinning widely. "Yes!" 'Next time I'm bringing a crossbow, or maybe a shotgun..' She stood, striding to the deer, to make sure it was dead. It was still gasping for air. Chase narrowed her eyes. "You sure are a tough one.. kishin." The deer smirked. "It'll be useless killing you. But I want to. It makes me feel.... powerful."
The kishin rolled its eyes at her. "Whatever. Go ahead and kill me." Chase snorted. "I'd rather make you suffer." It cackled, then snorted - regretting snorting from the beginning as it cringed in pain. "Oh? Did I get your lungs?" The deer didn't say a word. "Fine." She sat down, watching the deer as if it were a prize won by the champion of the Olympics. Or well, Chase Amagai anyways.
