The Patchwork Lab was content, the dark atmosphere even though the moon lighting the area up, it's crescent shape. and warped, flood leaked mouth. His house was seclude; one would have to look for it to find it, or stumble onto it by accident.
Stein's front door swung open lightly, there walked out the known Franken Stein. He waltzed outside onto the ground just below the hill that his lab set on. Stein turned his screw passively, enjoying his smoke -- He was used to it so much, he sometimes numbed the ecstasy of his cigarette.
Tick... Tick... Tick...
Stein pondered for a second or two, it was another sleepless night, he felt like drinking, he felt like eating; but he wasn't hungry. It wasn't long until stein's cigarette died, but he had plenty left.
Stein dug into his pocket, and taking out another cigarette; he then dug out a silver lighter, lighting the cigarette and shoving his lighter back into his pocket. The smoke drifted, and danced.
Tick... Tick... Tick...

Patty was wandering outside alone at night, something that Liz wouldn't let her do if she knew she wasn't in the house. But, Kid hadn't had any recent symmetry-related outbursts, so it had been quiet and... boring. All too boring. Patty sighed and looked around for something to amuse herself with.
There was Stein's house! She'd been there before. She started toward it, looking to see if Stein was there. On closer inspection, he was. Patty approached him with a grin and a wave.
"Hi!" she said cheerfully. Stein was usually interesting to be around, so he must have a cure for her boredom. "Do you have any giraffes?" she asked absentmindedly, peering over at the door and leaning to the right while doing so, as if he was hiding a giraffe farm from her. "'cause I wanna wrestle a giraffe. Maybe I can snap its neck!"
Under normal circumstances one would find this violent behaviour unnerving. But, it was just Patty being herself, and it wasn't really that violent. Well, not usually.
With her bright blue eyes she stared up at Stein expectantly, waiting for something exciting or fun to happen, like the unveiling of a giraffe from the lab. Maybe even a chemically redesigned one! That'd be fun to ride.

Stein looked over yonder. Off into the distance he saw a figure, luckily he had with him his glasses, they glinted casually. He made out the being approaching him at hyper speeds, it was the young Patty Thompson. "Hi!" She loudly boasted to him, Stein was as content as he wanted to be; so he nodded passively. He listened closely to Patty, because he thought she was often hyper in her dialogue, despite being distant to her; more of just a teacher. "Do you have any Giraffes? -- 'cause I wanna wrestle a giraffe. Maybe I can snap its neck!"
Tick... Tick... Tick...
Stein paused for a moment, inquisitively eyeing Patty. He would've felt accomplished if he could of brought out a genetically engineered giraffe -- non-sentient, for Patty to play with -- Violently, but there wasn't one. There sadly, couldn't be one either.
He took a short glance back to his lab, then back to Patty. He decided to wing it. "Ah, you're Patty Thompson, one of Kidd's weapons. I haven't seen you around much before, all I really remember is you bombing my test a year ago. How come you've come here asking about giraffes?"
Tick... Tick... Tick...
He thought for a second, a pause. He nodded, puffing smoke into the air above them, as it blissfully drifted off, dancing in the small breeze. "Do you... -- Do you want me to get you one?"
His actions weren't compromising with his thoughts, he was a little at unease with her, Stein didn't want to make her angry, or sad, or something else he would regret.

"I WANT A GIRAFFE, DAMMIT!" Patty yelled, looking angrily at the lab, which had failed her. Of course, that was really just the response to Stein's question- his first one- regarding her visit. She actually hadn't come there purpousefully- she had wandered there by chance. But, chance had come and she wanted a giraffe to play with.
Do you... -- Do you want me to get you one?" was Stein's next question. Patty was thrilled with this, and nodded enthusiastically. She made a gun with her hands and pointed it at the moon, yelling,
"LET'S GO GIRAFFE HUNTING! Bang! Bang!" Patty pretended to shoot at the moon, and then pointed her pretend-gun at Stein. "Bang!" she said cheerfully, and put her hands back to their normal position at her sides. She'd heard something rustle in the bushes. Maybe it was a giraffe, hiding from her!
"I'mma get you, giraffe!" she said, forming her "gun" again and heading toward the bushes. Alas, it was only a mouse.

Stein was, simply to put -- not very content anymore. He let his coat unkempt, he let his cigarette burn out, and become useless to him. Stein dropped it to the ground, crushing it with the soul of his right shoe. He watched as she spasmed enthusiastically, and scared a poor mouse from the bush. He paused for a second, wierded out beyond belief. He compromised, and would go inside to find something that would amuse Patty.
"Wait here, I'm going to go find something for you."
Stein dashed inside, locking the door behind him -- Not looking back, more so he wouldn't see anything Patty might do to give him even more unease. Stein shuffled around his lab, in search of a giraffe toy, or anything similar -- alias, even.

Patty wandered around outside Stein's lab, waiting excitedly for whatever surprise he'd bring her. She wondered if it'd be a giraffe. Well, if she was going to wait out here, she may as well do something productive. Based on that judgement, Patty got on her hands and knees and began searching around the bushes for a giraffe.
There, so far, was only another mouse, who scampered away as soon as Patty approached it. Angry that it wasn't a giraffe, Patty yelled out a long stream of her choicest obnoxious language at it and then continued searching. Giraffes were big, so they couldn't hide that easily, right?
Patty frowned. She wanted a giraffe, and she wanted it now. But... she also wanted some ice cream. Yes, that sounded good. She got up, walked to the door of the lab, and pounded on it with her fist.
"Also, I want some ice cream." she yelled through the steel door. Then, that mission accomplished, she turned to try to complete her other one.

Medusa was in Death City. The very place she wasn't supposed to go, nor ever be around, according to Franken Stein. She wasn't about to listen to him, however. She had her own plans, and, really, she didn't care who it involved any more. Yet she knew she was stupid to go here without Free. He was her protector. If she died, then how could he get others to join his devious cause? She wasn't worrying about that at the moment. "Let him think about that when the time comes."
She looked around the corner. It was the very odd place she had seen many times before. Stein's residence. She looked closer to see one of the children at Death Academy on his doorstep. She took a step closer before realizing it was one of the twins, she couldn't tell which one, however.
An awfully brilliant idea sparked in her evil mind. She changed into a snake and slithered in the grass, seemingly normal. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. She thought as she made her way. Closer, closer, and closer she came to the home. She quickly darted into a bush, as she saw the twin lurking about in his yard. That was a sight to see, she wondered how Stein was putting up with it.
Now she was at the side of the house. Looking up to the window, she wasn't satisfied. She slithered to the back, examining the walls and finally finding what she was looking for. A crack to get inside his lab. With a smirk on her snake face, she squeezed into the hole.

Stein had searched enough, and gave up. Nothing was around specific to an alias or figure of a giraffe, so instead he decided just to let her have some ice cream. Letting a younger girl into your home so she can eat ice cream sounds pedophilic, but he didn't think it was such a big deal having company over that was youngish. He hastily walked to the front door, unlocking it and swinging it open, to announce his question.
Contently, he shouted from afar, "What flavor of ice cream do you want?" He had noted she wanted ice cream, and so this was his only idea. He watched Patty be Patty, and inquisitively awaited her response.

Patty immediately stood from where she had been searching and ran to the door, flapping her arms around and pretending to be a plane. If Stein had ice cream, it must be genetically modified ice cream that tastes super good! Like ten times better than normal ice cream! Patty was excited to think of such a possibility and so replied,
"Chocolate! Chocolate just like a giraffe!"
Now, any sane person would know that giraffes are not chocolate coloured. But, their spots are, so any giraffe maniac like Patty would notice this straight away. And so, chocolate was somehow an accurate portrayal of a giraffe.
Patty barged her way inside, giggling happily on the pretext of receiving some ice cream, and looked around in wonderment of the lab, her hand over her eyes in her natural saluting way. "Wow," she breathed, thinking of all the giraffes that Stein could dissect in there.

Hearing the twin come in caused her to be slightly agitated. She didn't need all those people in the lab. She wanted it to herself. Things don't always go as planned, I suppose. She thought as she dodged the duo, making her way across the hallways. Her golden eyes scanned for something, anything to help her get out of the sticky situation she seemed to have got herself in.
Her eyes were immedieately drawn to the stairs. That will take some strength.. She huffed in her mind, imagining that her abdomen would be sore tomorrow. She was perfectly fine with that, seeing the opportunity to lurk inside the building. So she began her journey up the stairs, slithering silently.
At the top, she continued on, darting under a door. She changed back into her human form and examined the room. "What..decor.." She chuckled, everything seemed dull and boring. Her lab was filled with many things, in every room. More like secrets, hidden behind every door and every cabinet.
She opened the door slowly, trying hard not to make a sound. She tip-toed across the hall and into the open room, examining everything. She loved this, every minute of it. There was nothing like the sensation of breaking in.
She examined everything. "It all seems so...fragile." She whispered, extending a finger to touch one of the glass containers. With a wide, devious smirk, she flicked the glass over. It fell off the table and into the floor-shattering.

As Stein let her inside, he prepared the chocolate ice-cream cones, making 3 in just a minute or two. He placed all 3 on one of the regular tables, all of them were for her, as he wasn't eating. He sat down on the couch, beginning to take out a cigarette, as he lit it with his lighter casually, enjoying the smoke; child or not, he wasn't going on a hiatus of even an hour, or a few minutes. He sat there for a minute until he heard the informative shatter of glass. He calmly set the cigarette on the side of the ash tray, at a tilt, and then "calmly" took a random, two-handed scythe that was lounging on the floor. Without Marie or Spirit around, he hadn't a real weapon, and instead substituted. He dashed through the threshold of the door, he knew his house enough to find the right room; he didn't seem to be taking the intruder lightly, making it up the stairs, down a hallway or two, and swinging open the door abruptly to look at the trespasser, maybe being to eager; he was already charged inside for a soul menace-kick to the stomach. He wasn't sure if it was credible or not, but he had just a little adrenaline in him, which spoke out more than his thoughts. He awaited whoever, and was paying attention to whoever he would find on the other side. If his attack failed, he already had a backup. But, if he were to meet nothing on the other end, Stein would simply stomp his foot down to balance him again.

Patty was happily enjoying her ice-cream cones, which both her sister and Kid probably would have disapproved of if she were around them, as it was quite late and they'd fear the sugar rush resulting from it. When she'd finished the third one, she noticed that Stein wasn't there. At first she was angry, and felt left alone. She swore, but then realized that perhaps he'd gone because of the glass shattering upstairs. Maybe there was a funny mutation growing out of the floor as a result! That'd be cool to see. On that note, Patty started upstairs.
"Stein-sensei," she called, "what're ya doin' up there?"
Patty laughed a bit, thinking that in a creepy situation like this, her sister would be on her knees in terror. Liz sure was scared of anything dark and supernatural. She was funny. Patty almost wished that Liz was there, so that she could laugh at her. It would relieve the tension of the current situation, that was for sure- not that this tension was bothersome or even noticed by Patty, who was merely lost in thoughts of mutated giraffes as she climbed the staircase.

She knew what she was doing when she did it. No one would be foolish enough to believe there wasn't an intruder. Medusa wasn't surprised when Stein burst through the door. Sitting atop her vector arrow, she dodged the kick, but only by an inch. A wide smirk stretched across her face. "How clever you are." She hissed, moving quickly behind the table of odd glass containers and things of the like.
Her eyes flickered from the left to right as she raked her nails across the table, tapping them lightly. She wondered where the twin was, and if she was stupid enough not to notice it. She cocked her head to the side and laughed slightly. "Couldn't even sense me.." She muttered before seemingly disappearing. Of course, she turned into a snake.
Quick as a flash of lightning she slithered between Stein's legs and made her way halfway down the stairs before turning and changing back behind Patty.

Stein scowled at the unfolding events, missing the moment to react when she morphed into a snake, and dodged between his legs. He didn't hesitate to dash out of the hallway and follow her. Stein paused once he reached Patty and Medusa, who had changed back. He clenched his mediocre scythe; he was a little more trigger happy to slice at her. Stein eyed Medusa, watching her to do anything, playing out how he might intercept her, snake or not. He felt eager to take action; yet still awaiting her move, even though Medusa is technically kiting him.
"Hmph" He muttered scornfully, swirling his scythe just once. He took note of his peripheral vision's surrounding: One Painting, One Vase, And one broom, resting on the wall, all in a moment's reach; for all of them.

Patty didn't have to be a genius to realize that she was standing in between Medusa and Stein. It was a rather dangerous place to be, but being herself, she didn't seem to care. She turned around to look at Stein, and said,
"Do you need help, professor?"
She said this in a relatively calm manner, which was strange for her. But, followed through by being herself. She transformed into her pistol-form, just in case, and her laughing voice echoed from the metal. "YEAH, LET'S BEAT 'ER UP!"
If Patty shot out fragments of her meister's soul wavelength, then the shots she'd give out with Stein as her meister, if he chose to wield her instead of the somewhat mediocre current weapon, would be extremely powerful. From where she saw it, there was no way they could lose. But, then again, she kept this outlook every time she fought in a battle, no matter how grim the situation actually was.
