Appearance:
He might not the tallest student to walk the halls of the DWMA, Black*Star does have some abs and pecks on his body, the most visible being on his arms. He's small 'round the waist, but not in a lack of food sort of way. This meister has spiked light blue neon hair, that when you look at it in just the right way, it resembles the shape of a star, and dark green eyes. His face is round-like, a grin usually in view. On his right shoulder is the shape of a star, this being a shade or two lighter than his actual skin color. However, after recent arcs and battles, there's a scar that cuts the star in to two halves.
Black Star's usual outfit consists of a sleeveless black vest with a high collar and two-toned pants just a few inches short of being full length. The bottom of his shirt is usually tucked into the his pants. On the right of the collar, beginning at the top and reaching down to the chest of the shirt, is a design that looks similar to rivets in a sheet of metal. The same design goes down the spine of the shirt, but instead of being attached to the fabric, it hangs off, looking more like an item than part of the outfit. Black Star's pants are an off-white color until about the knees where they turn black. The cuffs and waist of the pants have the same rivet design as his shirt.
When it comes to extra items, Black Star really only has silver gloves. Around the knuckles is a lighter shade of silver band with a darker star in the center of that. The wrists of the gloves are thicker than usual.
While you can totally see him wearing the outfit described above, Black Star does wear other clothing. He usually is found in tank tops of many colors, almost all of them having a star emblem somewhere, and pants that allow enough room to move in. When he dressss up, he doesn't usually take time to get ready and tends to leave his outfit looking stupid.
Personality:
To sum it up with Black Star's personality, would include more insults than good words, and a bit of time, as well. He's headstrong, hyper, egotistical, loud, stubborn, selfish, and obnoxious, but there's no doubting his loyalty to his friends or the fact that he's an awesome fighter. Black Star's negatives tend to outweigh the positives, though, there are a few rare events where he shows what a kind person he really can be. It's hard to believe that this boy is one of the toughest fighters in the DMA, especially in the way he normally acts.
Black Star absolutely admires being the center of attention. It's pretty common to see him standing on the highest point on the planet and screaming his lungs out about how 'epic' he is, acting like he's the best thing to march the earth next to sliced strawberries. He often calls himself 'the Great Black Star' or 'the Great Me'. It doesn't seem to occur to him, that it leaves people irritated or give him a bratty and egotistical look. In fact, this kid doesn't seem to care at all about what people think of him as long as he's number one. Black Star has serious probs when anyone tries to say that he's not great or that he isn't strong, getting defensive, and even resorting to action/'physical education' at times. The possibiliy that he might not be tough is enough to show his stubborn, hardheaded side and bring out insults and threats.
His being obnoxious and annoying doesn't stop at just the speeches and titles he gives himself. Black Star is mentally bored and always willing to do something interesting. It's difficult for Black Star to sit around and do nothing when there's a world out there, that 'needs saving'. As so, Black Star is always doing something, and looking for a fight. It would be easy to compare him to an excited puppy since almost everything has a way of getting him riled up and ready. When you can't find him, follow the complaints and annoying laughter and you're sure to locate this meister. Black Star has a knack for causing trouble wherever he goes, even without trying to create chaos.
Even if he can be stupidly annoying in the way he thinks he's better than everyone else, and even if he does create problems with his egotistical and crazy psycho battle freak nature, Black Star is a good kid. He's kind to his allies, sticking up for them even without them having to say anything. Scrambled in with all of that, he is a friendly guy. Black Star isn't against meeting new friends or people and he does get a kick out of joking around and doing things he enjoys with people he knows. Dribbling basketballs with his friends is one of his favorite things to do in his extra time. And he usually fails in what he does, it just doesn't turn out the way he wants. Which, more or less, comes from lack of common sense and even people skills. He just doesn't react well to authority, as well.
He has his own rules and doesn't usually respect what others have to say. There aren't many people who can get away with announcing the opposite of what he has planned. Black Star takes life at his own pace and won't wait for someone else. If you tell him to slow down, prepare yourself to be far behind. This boy will not look to the past, instead he'd rather focus on the objective and the future, or, the future and how much stronger he can get.
Black Star is always calling himself 'the man that will surpass god', and cause of that he has an fixation on getting stronger and winning. He doesn't exactly react well with losing, although, it was reckoned to be a great motivator to get his training. Never will he back away from a challenge and it's that type of personality that gets him into trouble. Black Star refuses to give up until he can't move, stubborn to the very end. He has a strong will and soul, and the meister doesn't allow anyone to get in his way.
Fighting is what he succeeds at, and in a smart sort of way. No one can say he is not a talented fighter. His strength is what he has and it's what he trains the most at. Becoming stronger means the planet to Black Star. Besides being strong and fast, he is a battle genius, just without thinking about the genius part. Clueless, he can take a needed stance in a fight, and even locate his enemy's weak points. Unlike most meisters his age, Black Star can use his Soul Wavelength in battle and can hold his own without a weapon. But, don't be surprised when he grabs his weapon.
This kid is packed. Very packed. Besides being immature and easily excited, his grades in school are terrible and he's not very good at anything with words. Black Star would rather train than be stuck reading a book. He does study, it just never turns out well in the end. Such, he does need the help of his partner, Tsubaki, ever so often. They make a wonderful team and are to be feared, but Black Star's need to be in the spotlight usually ruins everything. The fact that he practices the ninja arts does not make things any better.
When he needs to be silent and stealthy, Black Star is hollering and causing a commotion. When he needs to be serious, he's showing off. In a fight, his personality carries over. He hates it when others try to show him how awesome they are on the battle field and he's quick to run head first into any situation. When he does decide to take things seriously, that's when his true ninja colors shine. With Tsubaki's multiple weapon forms, he can control most situations and have a way to get from defense to offense in but a few moments, and Black Star does take advantage of that. Though, the one weapon form he seems to enjoy the most is the kusarigama.
Black Star does care for Tsubaki, there can be no doubting that. He is just too independent for his own good and doesn't like to admit when he needs help with something. His attitude does get in the way and can lead him into all sorts of chaotic matters. Even so, he does seem to rely on Tsubaki more than he does on others.

Black Star is noted to be the fastest Shibusen student (with the possible exception of Kid), surpassing Kirikou. Aside from his speed, Black Star has displayed a large amount of endurance; he was able to participate in a prolonged and arduous battle against Mifune, during which he suffered numerous cuts from Mifune and still managed to defeat him. His fitness is also recognized by Stein, who is regarded as the strongest meister to have ever been from Shibusen. During a training session, even Stein was caught off guard by Black Star's physical prowess and admitted that Black Star was actually outdoing him, in that aspect. He is also regarded as the strongest attacker out of his team, consisting of Maka and Kid. His fitness was alluded to early on in the series, as he was often seen working out. - Strong Wavelength
Black Star is a practitioner of Soul Menace — a trait shared by Stein. By resonating with one's own soul, the user can drive their own soul wavelength directly into an opponent's body through a physical strike on them. Although Black Star is not as proficient in using it like Stein, he has managed to create two of his own versions: Planet Destruction Cannon and Certain Kill: Black☆Star Big Wave. Aside from this, Black Star is noted to have an incredibly strong wavelength. Stein once gave Black Star Soul absorption water, which, as the name implies, seems to have the properties of absorbing wavelengths. At first, Black Star could barely put his hand in it, but, when asked about it later on in the series, he replies that he became annoyed and drank it all. According to Stein, not even an average adult meister would have lived if he or she did that. This is even farther alluded in that his Soul as shown in resonance with Tsubaki early in the series is only slightly smaller than Maka's Soul in resonance with Soul as a Death Scythe a good 50 chapters later. - Ninja Abilities
Black Star comes from the Star Clan, which specializes in ninja tactics and stealth. Black Star's arrogance often leads him to reveal his whereabouts, defeating the purpose of the ninja arts. The few times he uses his ninja stealth is when he peeps on Tsubaki (which normally ends up with him yelling and showing his whereabouts upon seeing Tsubaki's nude body) when she is bathing, or when he finally takes the fight seriously. Likely due to his lack of the sixth sense — soul sensing — Black Star has developed his natural five senses, most notably his sense of hearing. He was able to recognize unstable footsteps from Crona and was able to hear the conversation between Sid and Nygus when they were talking about Stein's arrival. He has also demonstrated his own "sixth sense", which he uses to fight against insanity wavelengths. This is seen when he is the only one besides Maka, Soul, and Harvar to remain calm when Arachne's insanity wavelength erupted throughout Baba Yaga's Castle, he also managed to "blow" away the insanity with his wavelength. - Shadow Weapon/Enchanted Sword
After Tsubaki absorbed her brother's soul, Black Star gained access to the Uncanny Sword. At first, the sheer power of the sword was far too high for Black Star to handle. However, through practice and making peace with the entity within the sword, Black Star gained access to its remarkable power. He mastered this power in time to face off against Mifune in their last battle. During the battle, Black Star used the sword, granting him unprecedented power and speed.
Resonances: - Soul Menace
Without the use of Tsubaki, Black*Star is able to use his own soul wavelength as a physical attack in battle and it is known to cause major damage when used right that is. - Shadow Star
Several attacks that Black*Star uses after soul resonance is complete with Tsubaki , that involves the certain uses of many of her forms to complete. They are listed below.

Using Tsubaki in her chain scythe form, Black*Star is able to create a star shaped shield that can protect him from attacks.

Little is known about Black Star's actual birth but the main thing that is noted in both the manga and anime is the fact that he comes from the infamous 'Star' clan a group of assassins and killers who desired power so much that many of them were willing to become Kishin eggs to get this very power (a prime example of this would be White Star, Black Star's father) Yet as soon as it was taken into encount that the Star clan was getting to blood thirsty for their own good, the DWMA was forced to step in and eliminate the entire clan, everyone but Black Star that was. Still an infant at the time, and with the crimes of what his clan had done too horrific to punish a child for the DWMA spared his life on Sid's, a teacher of the school, request (despite the warnings) and with that the teacher adopted the young Black Star as his own son.
It was uncertain how a child raised under such a compassionate man(at the time) could become such a hot headed and arrogant kid prone to wanting and desiring power, but it happened. In result the Black Star we all know and love was born. Over the course of the years, Black Star dedicated himself to becoming great, and with his motto, "I'll be the man, who'll surpass God" behind him he certainly stuck to the root of his objective. Even after meeting his partner, Tsubaki(who was the only one who had managed to listen to his entire speech when they first met) Black Star continued to push himself to his limits. Even the smallest things such as playing basketball, and studying for tests didn't deter him from pushing himself, and the more he pushed himself, the more he began to realize that it was the desire for power that truly motivated him. It wasn't until he met Muifune, a samurai working (at that time) under the evil Arachne, all in hopes of protecting the young witch Angela, that he learned that it was the cause for the quest for power that lead his father, down the same road and eventually to the point of no return. At first Black Star wasn't up to listening to the samurai's warning and only after several battles to the point where he was almost killed, did the truth finally dawn on him. He wouldn't follow his father's footsteps, instead he would create and follow his own path, one that would put him even further of obtaining his goal of power without having to turn to the dark side to obtain it.
After the defeat of Mifune (and his death in the manga) Black Star's personality took a turn for the better(kinda) no longer was he so obsessed with the need for power as he once was and slowly that cocky and loud kid(though he still remains mostly the same) would level out a bit and involve into a mature person with that new personality change, would his abilities also increase in battle, making him a very formidable foe to duel with.

Black*Star sat down at a bench in the cafeteria. He picked at his food with his fork which was something that looked like it was dug from the dumpster. He laid his fork to the side, then glanced around. Weapon and Meister teams were enjoying their food. What was wrong with them? Were they blind as to what they were eating? Or was it because they were happy...Black*Star shrugged. He didn't like thinking about happiness. Only working, training, fighting. It was the only thing he could think about anymore. Tsubaki was so close to becoming a Death Scythe, he couldn't wait. But what would Black*Star do if Shinigami-sama took away her forever. No, that couldn't happen. Since Maka got to see her 'father' all the time.
It sure would be lonely without Tsubaki. He stood up, emptied his tray, and exited the lunch room. It was so loud, everyone was yelling, hollering, and talking non-stop 24/5. Annoying brats they were. He knew inside that everyone thought he was annoying, they just didn't have the guts to say it. Especially since he was Spartoi. Black*Star rolled his shoulder, feeling himself relax. His arms were in pain, constant training had worn them out. He entered his class room, when he realized he had forgotten something in the lunch room.
He quickly raced back into the cafeteria, and back to where he was sitting. Gone. It was gone. His very important object was missing. If he lost it, he lost everything. he felt all over the table, searched underneath the table and on the ground, no where to be seen. The object had to be there somewhere! What was that? A shiny looking material behind the trash can? That has to be it! He moved the bin to the right, only to find something he wasn't looking for. A necklace. A girly one by the looks of it.
